Abstract

In the present research, the structure of the text and the image of the biology chapters of the 11th grade of the second year of 1401-1400 with the model of Seluch and McTigo were analyzed. The statistical population is a book for 11th grade, which was examined in ( text image, and a combination of text and image) and eleven sub-components. The research is descriptive and content analysis in terms of type. The results show the lack of diversity in the text structure from linear and non-linear, and the use of linear structure is observed throughout the book. Also,, less than half of the images are actively related to the text, and on most, the images are presented in color and the share of the image is more than the text but meaningfully proportional to the text. Less than half of the images are seen exactly in the vicinity of the related text. Most of the images have a title and more than half of the images are represented, which makes the comprehensive information more meaningful. In many cases, it is possible to use more appropriate and effective images in explaining concepts and understanding them, to be paid attention to.
