Abstract

The purpose of the research is to analyze the content of the sixth grade math book based on Guilford's creativity index. The method research is a descriptive type of content analysis. The statistical population is the entire content of the sixth grade math book published in the academic year of 1402-1401, which was divided into four parts (shapes, activities, exercises and work in classes, and puzzles and entertainment). This research analyzes the content of this book according to Guilford's types of mental actions (cognitive memory, convergent thinking, divergent thinking and evaluative thinking). The results of the research indicate that the content of the 6th elementary math book has paid more attention to the level of convergent thinking and cognitive memory and less attention has been paid to the level of divergent memory and evaluative thinking according to Guilford's creativity indicators. These results mean that more than half of the content of the 6th grade math book emphasizes on students' pre-organized topics and topics (pattern thinking); Therefore, it seems that the curriculum and educational content of the 6th grade math textbook should be revised; Because according to Guilford's point of view, all four factors of creativity together strengthen a person's creativity.
