After the failed experiences of various countries to achieve economic development, sustainable development models that coordinate development capacity and definite environmental requirements were discussed. In these models, the role of human resources aware of environmental issues and committed to protecting the environment is a very (significant) factor. One of the manpower training platforms is science education.
In this study, through analyzing written & online sources over the past 20 years and processing the data gained from them, environmental practices that are instrumental for students in understanding environmental concepts & content have been proposed. These techniques include web-quests, social simulation and educational games in the virtual media, to teach knowledge and attitudes related to the environment. Learning cycle instructional model provides appropriate structure for instruction of environmental science units. This approach begins with elicitation of learners' ideas. These ideas will be exposed to evidence from activities and after interaction with social and physical spaces, by reflection and comparison between initial ideas and argumentation, new concepts emerge.
