This descriptive and analytical research aimed to analyze the content of all science books and physics books on the subject of friction using the SOLO taxonomy model and based on quantitative-qualitative approach. Since the friction is only mentioned in first grade, the sixth grade of primary school, and the ninth grade of elementary school and physics of the twelfth grade, the statistical population of the research includes this 4 books. The statistical sample of this research is equal to the statistical population of the research. The result showed in the subject of friction in science textbooks, the most of the problems are in the relational and Extended Abstract level and in physics textbooks, most of problems are in the multistructural and relational level. Assessing the content of these books in terms of compliance with the principles of selection and organization of the content of the book shows that among the three principles of content organization (sequence, continuity and integrity of content), the rate of considering the principle of continuity and integrity in the content of books is in mean rate but the principle of sequence in the friction problems in 12th grade physics textbook was not well respected.
