Over the past few years, there has been considerable progress in the field of quantum technologies, as researchers work to enhance the capabilities of these cutting-edge technologies. One such development is the emergence of quantum batteries, which represent a new paradigm for energy storage and extraction. Unlike conventional batteries found in electronic devices that store energy through macroscopic electrochemical processes, quantum batteries work on a microscopic level, allowing energy to be stored and retrieved using specific systems. To gain a complete understanding of these systems, it is essential to grasp fundamental concepts such as ergotropy, charging power, and stability. This article endeavors to introduce quantum batteries and provide definitions necessary to comprehend these devices. Furthermore, we will present a sample quantum battery to demonstrate how these concepts can be applied. With the ongoing progress in quantum technologies and the potential benefits of quantum batteries, it is clear that they will play a crucial role in the future of energy storage and utilization.
